Why most education promises fail: you need multiple teachers, not one program

0:00The issue in the alternative education world is not the products of the promises. I think the vast majority of people try to help and try to do a good job. They are limited by their skill at teaching. Let's say there's 10 skills required, they might be able to teach you skill 1, 3, and 7 well, and then people who happen to have had skills 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 will succeed. And then people will be like, "Holy cow, this thing was amazing. That guy changed my life." And then you'll see that testimonial thing, "Oh, therefore I should buy this thing." Every single thing you've seen online that sells any kind of information, even the ones that don't, will have testimonials, case studies, etc. And so, I'll give you guys this analogy. And so, I want you to imagine a bridge that you do your first learning experience, whatever you want to call it. You got the first three bricks on the bridge. Was it a waste?

0:46No, it's just that you need more bricks. Maybe the next one you get the next three bricks on the bridge. You get the last three bricks, and then the dollars can start going across the bridge. If that person just promised, "I'll be able to get you brick 1, 2, 3," you probably be fine with it. But I want to learn everything that person has to teach me, and then I want to go learn what the next person has to teach me, and the next person. I want to learn from everybody. I would encourage you to not get down or learn the moral lesson from a mistake. You should just got to keep going.
