0:00Was it a journey to frame this positively, or do you not even think about it? I don't even think about it. Not even once. I think that people add Let me Let me put it this way. And I'm sure this I'm sure Check with your medical professionals. Add whatever disclaimer you want that makes you feel good. If you like the way you live your life, then please just keep living it that way. If for whatever reason you don't like the way that you live your life, I have a view that people have a lot of brain differences. And so, if we use what we can see with our eyes, think about height, think about race, think about gender. There's a lot of differences. A lot of different people.
0:33A lot of different looks. And no one's like, "Oh, it's wrong to be tall." Or it's wrong to be short. Or it's wrong to be, you know, I'm not even going to get into race, but it's wrong to be whatever color you want, right? I think the same level of diversity, if not greater, exists within our brains. And just because things are different does not mean that they are worse. And so, I define the vast majority of utility or meaning for me based on what it actually affects about my life. And so, if someone says, "Hey, I have a shorter attention span, but then I have periods where I have intense focus."
1:05Then I'd say, "Okay, so sometimes you're focused, sometimes you're not. All right." Fine. Does that somehow prevent you from doing what you need to do? Not really. Okay. So, who cares? And so, um I say this because my mother had, um by her definition, severe ADD. Um and I think that I have her her processing brain power. Like, between my mom and my dad, I'm much more similar to my mom uh from that perspective. And she was heavily medicated on for that stuff.
1:35And she always saw it as a handicap, and I always saw it as a superpower, but it was the same thing. And so, I think that the labels that we give ourselves are in some ways the things that matter the most. And that's why I'm very selective about the words that I use, um and I am statements, like I am this. Like, I don't even like saying like, "I am ADD." Or, "I have." Like, cuz these things that you carry with you. Um that's why I'd say like I express these tendencies, I do these behaviors, um, and I don't necessarily ascribe a good or bad label on it. It's just an observation of reality. Because could you imagine somebody who had who behaves one way and is better um, better fit for a certain type of business or opportunity. Probably. And probably in a different business or opportunity, a different personality type or or behavior set is better suited. And so to say that one is right and one is wrong feels ridiculous. And if you were to say even differently, this is what the majority of people have and you were not in the majority, did you ever really want to be average?
2:32It's like saying this guy is 6'5". That's not what normal people are uh, you know, that's not the nor- that's not a normal height. Think about that for a second. This guy is 6'5". That's not a normal height. Is that bad? And so I think that is at the most basic level explains the vast majority, not all, but the vast majority of the intellectual discrepancies or differences that we have is that we're just different, not better or worse. And differences then also lead to different advantages in different environments. And so you just got to learn the the game that's suited best suited to you.
3:02And you only do that by doing a lot of and figuring out what you're good at. If you like this video and you're a business owner who wants to break through your current revenue ceiling, I just sold every lesson from scaling 10 businesses past 10 million and three businesses past 100 million into a completely free scaling road map that I've used to go from zero to one, zero to 10, and zero to 100 plus.
