0:00Does any advice come to mind for someone who has strong operational skill set but is not adept at sales or cold approaching? Okay. Doing the work is effectively easy part but having the opportunity to do so is the pain point. Sector is real estate property management hospitality. Um, I'll give you two answers to this. So, I'll say hard way easy way. I'll say the easy way is find someone who has the skills that are you you're deficient in. There's tons of people who are very promotional oriented entrepreneurs but don't have somebody who's got strong operational chops behind them. And anything big is going to need operational chops.

0:31Uh, so that means like leadership, managing people, managing processes, things like that. Like infrastructure, like all of those things are important in a business to scale. And so, the easy thing is find somebody who complements you and then you guys go do it together. The the hard way of doing it is that you go get those skills, right? Um, and you said that doing the work effectively is the easy part. But the thing is is that the work you need to do is on the thing you suck at. So, what I see that as is I like doing work that comes easy to me. Not that work is easy.

1:01So, you like doing easy work, which is not hard work. The hard work is doing things that you suck at and that you will fail at and you will feel bad for being sucky at. But doing it so many times that eventually you suck less until eventually you're good. That is the hard work. And it's the hard work because it's emotionally draining more than it is mentally draining. We can understand what 100 outreaches a day is. It's very defined. The emotional part is the hard part cuz you have to deal with the uncertainty of not knowing whether it's going to work or when it's going to work. You don't know if the iteration that you're going to do based on the feedback is the right one. But you have to continue to do that and I think it's the emotionality of how much suffering you have to go through in that process which teaches you to be more efficient and find ways to get better.

1:40And go find yourself a community of people who are doing this exact same thing and you should surround yourself with them because I promise you'll learn 100 times faster if you can learn from 100 other people's life experiences rather than learning solely on your own. If you're a business owner and you're not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd like to give you a free gift. So, my team and I put together the $100 million scaling road map, which is basically 200 hours of us looking over all the portfolio companies we've had and what stages of growth they went through and more importantly, where they got stuck and how they got past it. And so, we broke it into these 10 stages and we made this little kind of quiz thing where if you put in your business information, it'll tell you where you're at and the most important part for you, what to do for each of functions of the business across product, marketing, sales, customer success, recruiting, IT, human resources and finance. And so, no matter what you're struggling with, someone else has already struggled with it and solved it. And so, I'd like to give you this thing absolutely free. You can go to acquisition.com/roadmap, plug in your business information and if you want us to actually help you deconstruct the business and you're trying to scale, we'd love to help you out. On the thank you page, you can book a call with my team and we will look at the business, see if we can help and if we can, we'll invite you out to Vegas and we'll do this in person live.
