Was du mitnimmst

0:00Unternehmer/Gast So, we sell magic mushroom products online, e-commerce. >> Okay. >> Um we do >> Like drug mushrooms? >> Yeah, the psychedelic kind. Yeah. >> Cool. >> Uh we did about 650,000 in revenue last year. >> Okay. >> That's kind of our first big >> legal? >> Uh it's it's a kind of a gray area. It depends where you're selling it. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, so.

0:26>> [laughter] >> Um >> It's fine. Yeah. You're good, dude. Sorry about it. I'll help you out. It's fine. >> [laughter] >> So, we'd [snorts] like to yeah, grow the business to 3 million 5 million. >> Help more people get high. I love the impact. All right. >> Yeah. >> I'm I'm just kidding. I know it is. Yeah. >> Um so, what what's stopping us is basically marketing. We have >> [clears throat] >> social media. We got most of our um from Instagram most of our clients.

0:56Alex >> Do you make content or someone else make content? >> We make content. >> Okay, is it you or is it just somebody else? >> my business partner. >> Okay, got it. >> Yeah, we make part Yeah. >> Medicine. >> Yes. >> That's right. >> [snorts] >> Yeah, so that was you know, we were trying different things. Um last December we kind of had a few pieces of content that went viral. Um started getting a lot of uh a lot more customers from that. >> Okay. >> Um It's been a bit of a struggle just cuz of the the nature of the products, you know, getting strikes and flagged and accounts shut down.

1:27>> Even on the organic side? >> Yeah. >> So, yeah, you can't run ads, I'm guessing. Yeah, okay. >> Yeah, I don't Yeah, we might be able to run ads, but you have to be careful >> Until you get shut down. >> Yeah, yeah, exactly. Um so, we kind of yeah, it's it's kind of like skating on thin ice. We want to diversify >> Yeah. >> our marketing. Um you know, we have a lot of good months and then dips down and depends on the content. >> Uh-huh. >> So, yeah, [clears throat] we're trying to

1:53>> Sell more [ __ ] >> Yeah, sell more [ __ ] Exactly. >> Yeah, got it. So, uh I mean, fundamentally the thing that you're fighting against is irrelevance, right? So, just just to name the enemy is that no one knows you exist. And so, we just need to advertise more. That's literally it. Like, this is the leads book A to Z. And so, of the core four, I'm assuming that the delivery of this is probably not that complex. >> No. >> Right. And so, what are you guys spending your time doing all day?

2:18>> We do make content. We also do all the day-to-day stuff. Recently, we got a partner that's taking care of a lot of a lot of that now, so we have more time freed up. >> Okay. >> But yeah, we make content. >> How much content do you make on what platforms? >> Uh just basically Instagram right now is mostly. Um we don't we don't do a ton of content. We we post one reel a day, a couple stories. Um

2:46>> Uh-huh. >> So, our plan is to make more content and grow. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> I like that. It's a good plan. >> Yeah. >> Um how many hours per day are you spending on advertising? And I say that in the formal sense. >> Zero. We don't do any >> Well, con- >> Yeah. >> Content being advertising. >> So, um hours a day? >> Mhm. >> Probably 3 to 4 hours a day. >> You're making one reel. >> Well, okay. Maybe yeah, maybe it's not that much.

3:12>> [laughter] >> I just think we're we're figuring out like >> I'm only smoking one cigarette a day, doc. Like, I don't know where this black lung came from. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, yeah. Um yeah, we're just in the middle of like reorganizing how we do content, figuring out systems to do more, generating more ideas. Um so so, yeah. >> [snorts] >> If we were actually just making content 3 4 hours a day, yeah, we'd have a lot more content. >> you doing that is more important than that now?

3:44>> [sighs] >> Cuz that's obviously what you should do. So, like I'm trying to like why is he not doing this? >> Nothing. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Great. So, do you one out of like three or four? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> So, let's just do quick levels for you cuz I want you to have like some some easy takeaways. All right. So, number one is like you should be cross-platform on everything. All right. So, all the Reels should be TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram.

4:11So, that's like we know you Facebook. Facebook's huge, by the way. Facebook, LinkedIn video is blowing up right now. So, there's there's five that you should be X actually video is big there, too. So, there's six. Seven. Whatever. That this many, right? So, that's number one. Number two, take the transcriptions of those. Those become posts in of themselves.

4:35Take the transcriptions, make them into infographics. Those become posts. All right. So, we just went 7 * 3. We 21 X output. That's that's first lever, right? Second lever is on the production side. You guys are doing, you know, however much per day, one Reel per day. I'm guessing you're like making it and posting it, and making it and posting it. Does that sound about right? Okay. So, here's this idea. We're going to plan. And so, we're going to plan the week, and we're going to think we're going to spend like two days just planning what we're going to make. And then, we're going to spend one day recording all of it.

5:08And then, you can just edit. And then, you can just get into a cadence that now you can post way more. Cuz I promise if you plan it out, and you chunk the work cuz you're just going like going end-to-end is the most inefficient way to produce anything. And so, it's like it's much easier to say, "I'm in idea mode. Let me research hooks. Let me research trending topics. Let me memes and formats. Great. I've got all these ideas in. Here's all the the Shorts that I want to make."

5:34Now, okay. Now that I have those ideas, I'm going to go film them. Now, we're going to go edit them, right? And so, that's like I mean, honestly, if you just do that, you'll probably triple. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And your conversion is what? They hit your link and then go buy? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, so add a CTA at the end of your organics. Go to ManyChat. >> Yeah, the thing about CTAs is that we don't really do CTAs just because we don't want to get flagged and things like that. So, a lot of our content is, you know, it's we grow our own mushrooms so we post mushroom content that way. We do fun fun videos, you know, recipes and

6:09>> the CTA is going to change whether or not you I mean, you're talking about mushrooms, man. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> I think if you're like, "Hey, here's a free mushroom guide to figure out how to, you know, which one's the best for your high or whatever." >> Yeah. >> [clears throat] >> Okay. You know, I think like I like diagnostics as a as a lead magnet because it helps you to figure out where they're at, but it it it gives you like endless hooks on the front end cuz I don't want to have I don't have to create a new lead magnet for every piece of content, right? I don't want to make one hero piece, scaling road map, etc.

6:35Alex that all you do is you chunk in, chunk out. So, what I mean is like this applies for everybody. Uh it's like this is what you this is like do you just go really deep on like the flower I don't know [ __ ] about mushrooms, but like the flower head or whatever is inside mushrooms, [laughter] right? >> Fruiting body. >> Yeah, the fruit of the body as I would just said. >> body. >> The fruiting body, all right. >> That's what it's called. >> So, if this got if this thing's got a good looking body, right? And it's fruity, right? And it's like I just talked about this one element, but there's 16 other things that you have to think about when you're looking for your first high, right? And so and so download the thing and then we'll send it to you. And then obviously inside of there all of that's going to be hyperlinked to your store. Mhm.

7:17Right? Or you can have the the link just go straight to your store to an article that then links to the shop. Either way it works. >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh what do you think about doing more long-form content like podcast? >> right now you're not making short-form so let's do that. >> let's do that. Yeah. Okay. >> Do the first thing. >> Do the first thing. >> And then >> Do the second. Okay. >> Because the thing is it's it's harder to make longs than it is to make short. And so once you learn how to make shorts, longs is just many of those together on a theme. >> Mhm.

7:43>> That's all it is. >> What about live and interactive? I I know you mentioned that recently doing more of that. >> You're doing one short a day? >> Yeah. >> I say we go way more than that. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> I I mean just do that. Just do that. >> Okay. >> If once you do that consistently for like 3 to 6 months, then like that's systematized, we'll do something else. >> Mhm. >> On top. It's just layers. >> Layers, yeah. >> Cuz one of the big things this helps everybody is like once you get good at some advertising channel, if you're the one who's leading it and you're like, "Oh, I'm going to try this live stream thing." All of a sudden these ones blo- like bomb. So, in order to truly scale advertising over a long period of time, you have to literally lay this brick foundation, and then it's working, then you lay the next one. And most people just they jump from brick to brick and they never actually get any foundation, so it never stacks.

8:27>> Okay. >> That makes sense. >> Cool. >> Okay. >> Appreciate you. >> Thank you. >> If you're a business owner and you are not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd like to give you a free gift. So, my team and I put together the $100 million scaling road map, which is basically 200 hours of us looking over all the portfolio companies we've had and what stages of growth they went through and more importantly where they got stuck and how they got past it. And so we broke it in these 10 stages and we made this little kind of quiz thing where if you put in your business information, it'll tell you where you're at and the most important part for you, what to do for each of functions of the business across product, marketing, sales, customer success, recruiting, IT, human resources, and finance. And so, no matter what you're struggling with, someone else has already struggled with it and solved it. And so I'd like to give you this thing absolutely free. You can go to acquisition.com/roadmap, plug in your business information, and if you want us to actually help you deconstruct the business and you're trying to scale, we'd love to help you out. On the thank you page, you can just book a call with my team and we will look at the business, see if we can help, and if we can, we'll invite you out to Vegas and we'll do this in person live.
