0:00I help founders build self-driven, highest performing management teams. Most of my um clients or my best work is highly confidential cuz they're talking about people's names, stuff that they hate, money that they haven't made, the fact their wife's about to leave them. Like that it's all such confidential stuff. But I feel like I have like minimal authority because I can't be like you should have just heard this conversation I just had with this guy for an hour that I can't promote because he's like never [ __ ] tell anyone that I just was talking to you about.

0:28>> So, a couple ways you can protect that. One is you can just capture it from an angle that does not reveal the person. You can fog their face, you can fog their voice. The key is they just don't want to be identified, but they don't really care if the content gets out as long as it's not like about them. And so, that's like not that hard to do, but go ahead. >> I tried that once and um I tried it with like an anonymous podcast and the founder was saying how his most toxic staff member has him by the balls because he knows things that if he left and he's like I

1:00>> I know that guy. >> [laughter] >> Because the detail was so specific, the manager also knew me cuz I've trained his team and he was like that was [ __ ] about me and I was like, "Oh my god." >> So, what's interesting is that you can just say it wasn't. >> But I'm an honest person. >> No, no, but you get what I'm saying here, right? Like >> It was another piece of [ __ ] It wasn't you. >> Kind of. >> [laughter] >> Like Leila was She and I were joking about this. Like she'll make a podcast about somebody and she'll get four people on the team be like, "I know that was about me." And she's like, "It wasn't about three of you."

1:33>> [laughter] >> Basically, they have no foot to stand on because you didn't tell any personal facts. And then you just get to say you're not a special snowflake. >> Mhm. >> If you think I'm good at my thing, it's not because I bespoke figure it out every time, it's because people behave in patterns. And so, identifying those patterns is how we fix them. >> And you've never found that to be a barrier of them being like, "I know this is being recorded so I won't go into more detail or I won't provide"? >> I mean >> [laughter] >> No, I get Okay.

1:57>> I mean, you've seen my content. So, one is I think you can record the content. Two is just deny that it's about that person. And I think if there are some things that it's like, "Yeah, and their name rhymes with Shmon." You know, like probably not the play. But, I think that telling the stories is totally fine. >> Okay, thanks. >> Yeah.
