0:00If you had to help a lead generation business in the MSP space, you know what? You know what MSP? Master Services Provider. Uh what would be the best way to get qualified leads since the space is so saturated? Been doing outbound. We're about to start content. Anything that helps speed up the process would be great. Um Well, the fast button is ads cuz you can do that tomorrow. The slightly slower button is going to be outbound. Uh and then the slowest button in general uh tends to be content. Now, if you're amazing at content, then obviously tomorrow you could make the best thing and it goes viral, you know, globally.
0:36Is it likely? No. And so I'll give you hidden door number four, which is can you go find people who have the leads that you're looking for that are in adjacent businesses that you can partner with to send money back to them when they send you business? Is a great way to get started at a significantly higher leverage. So, for example, if there are five businesses that are adjacent to yours um where you can do deals with, those businesses and all of their existing marketing, advertising, selling, etc.
1:03machines are now working for you. And so you're basically harnessing your your your hitching your your wagon to the back of their cart and letting them pull as long as the metrics make sense for them in terms of payback. Because most businesses, as long as you're not competing, would like to make more money from their leads. If they can't sell this person something, it makes sense for them to give them that person to you so you can sell them something and they can get a portion of it. And that's all cash flow with no risk, right? And there's no work in delivering. And so making those deals very, very, very lucrative and it gives you a tremendous leverage, especially when you're starting out, on your average attempts where you can do basically more targeted and more meaningful outreach. Meaning, can I, instead of just sending a DM, can I show up in person? Can I say to somebody that, "Hey, I'm going to be in your area." and then when they say yes, I end up flying out there just so I can be with them, right? And so one of the I think um underutilized ways of doing this is sending like very heavy lumpy direct mail.
1:57Ned, who's one of our He's our VP of Ops. And he's uh he he posted this inside of our Vantage community. Um there's old direct response stuff that people used to do which is they would take a letter, they would crumple it up, they'd put it inside of a little trash can, and then they would mail it to people. And so inside the letter says, "Hey, I figured you were going to throw this away in the trash anyway, so I figured I'd save you the step. Haha ha." And so then you go through the sales letter. But the thing is is that when you follow up and say, "Hey, I'm the guy who sent you the trash can." People are like, "Oh, that was pretty funny." And then sometimes you get a you get a foot in the door. Right? And so being willing to do those things and then say, "Hey, I'm going to be in the area next week. Are you available?" I'd I'd be happy to stop by. People for whatever reason are way more likely to say, "Well, he's in the area. I guess I can spare it." But if you're if you're not there, then they wouldn't say yes. And then you can just get yourself there for a few hundred bucks if the deal is worth it.
2:41If you're a business owner and you're not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd like to give you a free gift. So my team and I put together the $100 Million Scaling Roadmap, which is basically 200 hours of us looking over all the portfolio companies we've had and what stages of growth they went through. And more importantly, where they got stuck and how they got past it. And so we broke it into these 10 stages and we made this little kind of quiz thing where if you put in your business information, it'll tell you where you're at. And the most important part for you, what to do for each of functions of the business across product, marketing, sales, customer success, recruiting, IT, human resources, and finance. And so no matter what you're struggling with, someone else has already struggled with it and solved it. And so I'd like to give you this thing absolutely free. You can go to acquisition.com/roadmap, plug in your business information, and if you want us to actually help you deconstruct the business and you're trying to scale, we'd love to help you out. On the thank you page, you can book a call with my team and we will look at your business, see if we can help, and if we can, we'll invite you out to Vegas and we'll do this in person live.
