Was du mitnimmst

0:00I sell fund launch services and financial services to technologists. So like if you can build a rocket that takes off and lands back on Earth like I want that person to have a a venture fund and then I want to be the CFO to that venture fund for example. Um we're doing about 4 million [snorts] in revenue. Like probably three to three and a half is coming from the fund launch services and another million growing 4x year-on-year is coming from the CFO services.

0:24I'd like to be at 10 I guess uh in like a year or two. I think what's stopping me is probably manpower. Like productizing these these services I'm giving and being like the bottleneck for the whole company. I want to I want to ask one more question about the service. So when you say fund launch, right? Are you So are you launching LPGP structures?

0:50Or are you just helping people raise money for their specific projects? Are you doing it at the business level? Are you trying to build Like are you helping people become GPs? Or are you So you're not helping entrepreneurs? No, they're entrepreneurs but they're GPs. >> Well, yeah, yeah, I got it. They're entrepreneurial GPs. Yeah, yeah, okay, I got it. Yeah, yeah. Sorry. They're building ship by giving other people money to build ship. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, okay. Um fine. Uh okay, so you help GPs and do you get what a portion of the GP's slug?

1:17Get some of the GP. They pay us like a consulting fee for like a 6-month engagement. >> And you just have like a network of family offices and things like that. Yeah. Like yeah, private events. Yeah, yeah, okay. Um and so the thing that's holding you back is So you have enough people calling you right now to do this? Yeah, there's a lot of people coming in. I feel like I have to deliver. It's probably a me problem but like I feel like I have to deliver the whole service to like keep the quality.

1:43So I think what I learned in the workshop is like more SOPs, more productizing the service, take myself out of the equation. So I'll give you guys a little a nugget that'll apply to everyone, not just you. Um 2026 today, you need to shift away from role-based thinking to workflow-based thinking. And so, the future of organizations is going to be less about org charts and more about flows. And so, let's say that you're like, "Hey, I want to hire an editor, right?"

2:15That's how Oops, let's put the I in front. I want to hire an editor. We say that and that's because in our org chart there's this little hole here and we're like, "Okay, let's fill this little hole." That sounded off. But, anyways, um thank you, Lena. Appreciate that. Um And so, but what we don't typically do is actually to find out at a more granular level, what is this person actually responsible for? And so, every single function in the business is just a series of actions when you take it at the most granular level. And most people just don't take the effort to really think through it. So, I'll give you like a wild example. So, using this uh editor idea. So, the first thing that like would begin and you guys can tell me what process I'm talking about would be an idea. An idea is going to probably require some sort of trend research.

3:03And then a ranking of things that are doing well. And then from those ranking, a cross listing of things that are aligned with our brand / expertise. And then after we have this kind of reservoir, that then moves to, let's say, scripting.

3:29And so, then we take this and we're going to create an outline. And then we'll have an intro. And then we'll have uh a hook and a road map. Stories prove that gets woven in. Once we have that, then we're going to have packaging.

3:56Right? And as we go all the way along, what we're end up making is one damn YouTube video. Right? But what's When you tell like an editor who comes in, "Hey, I need you to go make YouTube video." That guy might know a lot of these steps or some of these steps. But it's the job of the entrepreneur to say each of these has clear directions and we need to break the entire business down into each of these kind of granular levels. And the reason it's important is because in the future that's happening right now, agents are doing each of these things. Like a huge amount of like I don't know if you've seen our media output is like tripled in the last month um at ACQ and we haven't increased our head count at all. And we did that because we have prompts that can do 30, 40, 50% They're eating up more and more of the workload so that one person can now do the work of three and then it'll be the work of five and then the work of 10. And so I think you could hire someone, but I think a lot of the tasks that you probably have are relatively administrative. Um and so break down what you feel like you are doing that's taking up your time that is preventing you from doing more.

4:58Training. Consulting. Training who? Like the GPs. Okay. Implementing stuff for them. Okay. I would actually break this down to the same degree for them, which is one of the things that will dramatically uh shortcut training is zero explanation and only telling someone the actions they need to take. So a lot of times we'll like we will pontificate on theory behind like, "Hey, and the reason we're doing this and the and there's this whole psychology." It's like, "Dude, just tell me what to do."

5:26Like >> [panting] >> just tell And like it'll take your training from this down to this and the level of comprehension and the likelihood they stick with it goes way up because the amount of words to translation into action goes way down. But yeah, so you just want to train the GPs and that's the thing that's holding you back. >> I'm just going to build AI agents for >> Yeah, I think that makes sense. >> Yeah. Awesome, man. Yeah. Thank you. >> Are you familiar with doing that? No.

5:51Yeah. I'll figure it out. You should. It's like the internet again. This worked out. Appreciate you. >> [laughter] >> If you are a business owner and you are not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd like to give you a free gift. So, my team and I put together the $100 million scaling road map, which is basically 200 hours of us looking over all the portfolio companies we've had and what stages of growth they went through and more importantly, where they got stuck and how they got past it. And so we broke it into these 10 stages and we made this little kind of quiz thing where if you put in your business information, it'll tell you where you're at and the most important part for you, what to do for each of functions of the business across product, marketing, sales, customer success, recruiting, IT, human resources, and finance. And so no matter what you're struggling with, someone else has already struggled with it and solved it. And so I'd like to give you this thing absolutely free. You can go to acquisition.com/roadmap, plug in your business information, and if you want us to actually help you deconstruct the business and you're trying to scale, we'd love to help you out. On the thank you page, you can book a call with my team and we will look at the business, see if we can help, and if we can, we'll invite you out to Vegas and we'll do this in person live.
