Was du mitnimmst

0:00This will be really fun for you guys. So, like, if I were if if we like transitioned into Q&A or something like that, I'm not saying we do that, but if if we if that were to happen, right? Someone would get up and say, "Well, here's why that won't work for me. Special reason 16b, whatever, right?" And so, I've just cuz I've done a handful of Q&A's now. Um and I've just realized it's been more powerful to just say like, "You're right." Next question.
0:25And then they're like, It's like, "No, no, this is the reason that I can't succeed." You're like, "Yeah, you're right. You'll never succeed." So, >> [laughter] >> And then they're like, "Well, yes, I will." And you're like, "Great. So, here the fighter showed up. Great." >> [laughter] >> You were fighting on the wrong side. Right? It's like it's it's silly though, but like we like we we do this contrarian thing for no reason to like to give ourselves excuses, but like if someone were to say, "You're right. You'll never succeed."
0:54You're like, "What the [ __ ] Yes, I Okay. Great. Then you don't have any questions. So, move on, right? Like It's just this this is like it's this conflict for no reason. And so, I think that right now if you have certain excuses cuz like right now there's probably a reason that you're like, whatever it is, is the reason that I am not winning. And I used to call this cuz I do a lot of sales training stuff, too. Um I call it the reason close, but it's insane how effective this is cuz it's so silly sounding.
1:21Whatever the reason they say is, just say, "And that's the perfect reason you should do this." They're like, "I can't sign up for this weight loss program because my husband husband doesn't support me." You're like, "The reason that you should sign up for this weight loss program is because your husband doesn't support you." I you know, I can't do this because I don't have the time. It's like, "That's the perfect reason to do it." It's like, "I can't do it right now cuz this is a really busy." Cool. "I don't have it because I don't have the money for that." It's like, "Well, that's the perfect reason you should do it." It doesn't really matter like whatever reasons you have are basically irrelevant. Because the doing just needs doing, and it doesn't really care if you have a reason or you don't have a reason or if you're a good person or a bad person or what you think about yourself.
1:56Because like, really shitty people can still win. And I'll I'll tell you something that's kind of weird for me, but like for a very long time I considered myself a very bad person. Um and maybe somebody here has a similar belief, but like I had that internal feeling about that which is like um I feel like I feel like the bad guy. I feel like the villain. And a very freeing thought for me was that like I can still do the stuff that successful people do and still win anyways.
2:25And that was kind of cool for me. Because if it was like, oh this is still under my control. Like it's not like only the good guys win. Like bad guys can win, too. I identified as that. And so um I just like boiling things down to behaviors because everything else I find to be completely distracting. Which to be fair is probably why I have been I would say on the other pole, which maybe when you go all the way around we're in the same spot from a 180° spot, you know, perspective. But I I have spent very little or zero time thinking about manifesting and thoughts and psychology and like all of these things at least as as I understand in this community. Now I could be totally wrong, but I'm saying as I see it um because I just never felt like it mattered.
3:10Because if you do 100 reach outs, more people will find out about your stuff. Whether you set affirmations in the morning, whether you woo it into existence, whether you it's like it doesn't matter. And so just focusing on the behaviors and the activities that I needed to do has just been my absolute razor to cut through the noise. And if you have that frame, you'll also be able to basically throw out 90% of the [ __ ] that you hear every day on your news feed from people who haven't been there and never did it anyways because they have to fill lots of fluff in their content because they have no substance because they don't know the actual activities that did it. And so if you get to the end of something, all right, this is I'm going to go on a little thing here. So I'm going to find two terms that I think are very meaningful.
3:51So, learning and intelligence. So, intelligence, I'll start with that. Well, fine, I'll do learning first. So, learning is same condition, new behavior. So, if I showed you all a red card, and then I slapped you, you'd be like, "Whoa." Then I won't say anything, then I show you a red card, and then I slapped you, you'd be like, "Whoa." And then I showed you a red card, and you duck.
4:16Same condition, new behavior. You learned. Intelligence is rate of learning. It's a speed. It's how Like, if I if I show you that, and it takes some person 10 times for them to duck, and one person the second time they duck, the second time person is smarter, they're more intelligent, than the 10 time person. And so, a lot of you here, I'm looking at you, think you're really smart.
4:45But you go back home to the same condition, and you do the exact same thing. So, how smart are you? Red card, slap. You don't change. And so, by defining it that way, it actually makes intelligence under our control. And so, if you I'm sure you wanted to grow to some degree by coming here for this whole event, and obviously the you guys here today, but if you leave here, and your behavior doesn't change in the same conditions, it means you learned nothing.
5:19And I think that's been a really powerful frame for me. Because if I go somewhere, I'm like, what behavior will I change from this? And if you go somewhere, and there is no behavior that changed, then maybe you shouldn't go there anymore, or maybe you should change. One of the two. Cuz either that didn't give you anything, or you're not receiving anything, right? And so, um that has been helpful for me in terms of how I consume information, which is like, will this change anything about my behavior? No? Well, then either this wasn't valuable, or I need to change something.
5:45Real quick, if you're business owner, and you're not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd like to give you a free gift. So, my team and I put together the $100 million scaling road map, which is basically 200 hours of us looking over all the portfolio companies we've had and what stages of growth they went through and more importantly, where they got stuck and how they got past it. And so, we broke it into these 10 stages and we made this little kind of quiz thing where if you put in your business information, it'll tell you where you're at and the most important part for you, what to do for each of functions of the business across product, marketing, sales, customer success, recruiting, IT, human resources and finance. And so, no matter what you're struggling with, someone else has already struggled with it and solved it. And so, I'd like to give you this thing absolutely free. You can go to acquisition.com/roadmap, plug in your business information and if you want us to actually help you decondition the business and you're trying to scale, we'd love to help you out. On the thank you page, you can just book a call with my team and we will look at the business, see if we can help and if we can, we'll invite you out to Vegas and we'll do this in person live.
