0:00Yes, sir. >> So, this is kind of riffing off the CEO question he asked earlier. So, if I look at kind of my skill sets, tech and product tends to be my strong suit. Sure. Sales and marketing, like sales I've done kind of enterprise sales. I'm familiar with that. But then, I'm new to the marketing world. Like I've, you know, I've been a year and a half in it. And by the way, your stuff is freaking amazing on on that. And and so, am I Should I be working on developing those skill sets or finding people to hire who will kind of complement what I do?
0:29>> I wouldn't try and relive someone else's life cuz that'll take too long to try and learn as much. You want to learn enough to be dangerous, meaning enough to make a judgment on someone else's skill level. And so, the fastest way that I know how to do that is interview as many experts as you can. And so, that's reaching out to experts, asking them to talk to you about what they think about regarding marketing, and also what they would look for in somebody who would fill this role. And so, then you can ask those people for introductions. And so, the idea is like if I get 10 to 20 interviews on people who are supposed experts of a specific space, I have a pretty good idea of how it works. And then, some of those people are open to accepting job offers from me.
1:11But I Most people end up having like three interviews and just picking the person who has a pulse that bothers bothers them the least. And I think that's usually a bad strategy. So, I talk to a lot of people. And I interview a lot. So, basically, you look at this as on one hand, you've got talking to experts that have that will have no desire to work for you. And the other hand, you set out interviews with people who would respond to a high-level role. And when you're interviewing them, with every one of them, you're going to ask basically all the You just get it for free. You ask all the questions you'd have. And what I would do is I would represent I would show them my actual problem. Be like, "Hey, we're going to do a case study. We're going to do it on my business. This is what's going on.
1:45What would you do?" And so, you can hear each of their the strategies and plans. And I like looking for specifics. And so, it's like, "No, break it down more. Like more specifically, like what would you do?" And that has given me the perspective from which to make a judgement on who has the skill set and who doesn't. >> Got it. And what if you you discover a passion for that new area that you're learning about? What would you do? Like would you still invest time in that? >> I mean I'm I'm an advocate for learning in general, but in terms of return on time and return on resources, there's like live a great life and then like make the most money and sometimes those intersect or intersect. And so, I'm all for learning. I think it's lots of fun. Uh on the other hand, like the things that you get the highest returns on are the things that you have the most skill in. And so, I would do more of those things.
