Argues that growth is limited by irrelevance, not lack of demand: if everyone knew about your business, you'd have the customers and the talent to grow it. Cites a roofing contractor who needed 40 more sales reps as an example of reframing urgency to unlock what's possible.

0:00Unless you have a viral product, so you have some sort of zerocost software that that you know has no cost to add another person, all growth is constrained by irrelevance. If every single person in the world knew about your business, your business would be bigger than it is right now. If every single person in the world knew about your business, then you would have the talent that you need to grow that business. And so fundamentally whether you're supply or demand constrained your growth is being limited by the fact that you are irrelevant within the scheme of the large like the larger universe right and I just try to remember this is like I can probably solve this by reaching out to more people by making more stuff for the people that I want to serve and by advertising more.

0:43And so I'll give you a a final little frame here that I think uh will be helpful, which is I had a gentleman um Brent who has a roof uh roofing company and uh I said, you know, he needed to get I think another 40 sales reps for his business to hit the the goals that he had. And it sounded like it was going to be like a year-long project or something like that. And after talking to him more about it, I was like, "You have kids, right?" And he said, "Yeah." I said, "Okay, imagine your your kids are going to get abducted the end of this month, unless you have 40 sales guys." He was like, "Yeah." I was like, "Okay, what what would you do?

1:26What would it take?" Because you can do that. And I tell this story because Leila and I have a mutual friend who's who's a many I think a many deca billionaire. And when he started this new venture that he raised $30 billion for, fun fact, um to build out the first level of team, he he flew every single person into a warehouse where he did 300 he hired 300 people in seven days and they did like 2,000 interviews with a group of 15 people.

2:00And I bring this up because when I heard that story, it was just such violent effort that I just am reminded about how much more I need to do to get to where I want to go. And of course, I'm going to get into the tactics and stuff, but like I think that these are the more important things that can shift your perspective that that I can offer.
