I’ve always found this to be worth it.

When I was in middle school, this kid in front of me took out pack of gum, put a piece in his mouth, and he turned around to me and he was like, "Hey, do you want a piece?" And I was like, "Sure." And it was a kid that I didn't really like that much. I remember taking the piece of gum and being like, "Wow, I like this guy so much more now." And then immediately thinking, "This guy bought my goodwill with a piece of gum." The next week, I brought a pack of gum to class and I opened the back and I said, "Hey, does anybody else want one?" The whole class took every piece of gum that I had.

You could do it like once a week. It like helped me kind of get a little bit of goodwill from people.
